  • Celebrating A Life

A Memorial Meeting may be scheduled in the Meetinghouse or elsewhere for any time after the death of a person. If the deceased person was connected with the Meeting, Ministry & Counsel Committee works with family members on the details.

Regardless of the location, attendees gather together and sit quietly. Everyone is welcome to speak out of the silence to share a memory, story, funny incident, or prayer that celebrates the life of the deceased. Those who keep silent, as well as those who give a vocal message, are participating in the worship.

We retain the programs and minutes for memorials held in the care of our meeting both in the meeting house and online. You can access the memorial programs and minutes in the attached google drive folder.

  • Quaker Study

Quaker Study provides resources for all who are seeking to learn more about the Religious Society of Friends, Quakerism, and how Friends faith and practice provides spiritual grounding for seeking social justice. Monthly gatherings are on the Meeting’s Zoom account. Readings and videos are provided to support the discussions.

Do you have knowledge in a particular area that you’d be willing to share? Please let us know by sending an email to nhquakerstudygroup@gmail.com.

  • Glossary of Quaker Words

Over the past almost 400 years Quakers have used words in ways that may not be familiar to you. The attached list can be helpful,or feel free to ask a question when a word or phrase is used in a different way. Note that several definitions include “Guilford”, which is a Friends college in North Carolina.
